Lesson 2 Planting and Cultivation of Ornamental Plants.pptxEmilJohnLatosa
?
Ornamental plants are grown to beautify homes and surroundings. When choosing plants, consider how they will enhance the space and if their needs suit the environment. Proper tools and safety precautions are needed for cultivation. Soil preparation is important, including adding fertilizers like compost to provide nutrients and improve soil quality for healthy plant growth. Pests must also be monitored and handled carefully according to product instructions.
This document provides information on propagating trees and fruit-bearing trees using scientific processes. It discusses the importance of plant propagation and the benefits of using scientific methods. These include ensuring healthy, strong plant growth and increased harvest yields. The document also identifies the appropriate tools used in plant propagation and describes their purposes. Finally, it explains different scientific propagation techniques like sexual propagation using seeds, and asexual propagation methods like cutting, grafting, budding, layering, and inarching. Safety measures for propagating fruit trees are also outlined.

This document provides information about farm tools and their uses in agricultural crop production. It begins by introducing the topic of selecting and using farm tools. It then lists and describes various common farm tools like the bolo for cutting grass, crowbar for digging, pick-mattock for digging stones, grab-hoe for breaking soil, spade for removing soil, shovel for moving soil, rake for leveling soil, and others. It provides the objectives of being able to identify farm tools according to their uses. In the end, it includes a short activity to test the reader's ability to identify different farm tools from pictures.
Farm tools, implements, and equipment play an important role in horticultural operations by making work easier and faster. Hand tools are used without animals or machines and are well-suited for small gardens and school gardens. Common hand tools include bolos for cutting grass, crowbars for digging, pick-mattocks for breaking soil and digging up stones, grab-hoes and spades for soil work, rakes for cleaning and leveling soil, and pruning shears for trimming plants. Proper use and maintenance of tools through preventative repair is important for successful horticultural operations.
This document provides instructions for propagating fruit trees through various methods, including growing trees from seeds, seedlings, and air layering. It explains that fruit trees bear fruits for human and animal consumption and reproduction. Some key points covered are that seeds of fruits like lemons and oranges need to be washed before planting, and that grafted or layered seedlings bought from nurseries will fruit earlier than those grown from seeds. The steps for air layering a branch include removing bark, wrapping the area with soil and moss, securing it with plastic, and waiting for roots to grow out of the plastic.

Blind Spots in AI and Formulation Science Knowledge Pyramid (Updated Perspect...Ajaz Hussain
?
This presentation delves into the systemic blind spots within pharmaceutical science and regulatory systems, emphasizing the significance of "inactive ingredients" and their influence on therapeutic equivalence. These blind spots, indicative of normalized systemic failures, go beyond mere chance occurrences and are ingrained deeply enough to compromise decision-making processes and erode trust.
Historical instances like the 1938 FD&C Act and the Generic Drug Scandals underscore how crisis-triggered reforms often fail to address the fundamental issues, perpetuating inefficiencies and hazards.
The narrative advocates a shift from reactive crisis management to proactive, adaptable systems prioritizing continuous enhancement. Key hurdles involve challenging outdated assumptions regarding bioavailability, inadequately funded research ventures, and the impact of vague language in regulatory frameworks.
The rise of large language models (LLMs) presents promising solutions, albeit with accompanying risks necessitating thorough validation and seamless integration.
Tackling these blind spots demands a holistic approach, embracing adaptive learning and a steadfast commitment to self-improvement. By nurturing curiosity, refining regulatory terminology, and judiciously harnessing new technologies, the pharmaceutical sector can progress towards better public health service delivery and ensure the safety, efficacy, and real-world impact of drug products.
Blind spots in AI and Formulation Science, IFPAC 2025.pdfAjaz Hussain
?
The intersection of AI and pharmaceutical formulation science highlights significant blind spots¡ªsystemic gaps in pharmaceutical development, regulatory oversight, quality assurance, and the ethical use of AI¡ªthat could jeopardize patient safety and undermine public trust. To move forward effectively, we must address these normalized blind spots, which may arise from outdated assumptions, errors, gaps in previous knowledge, and biases in language or regulatory inertia. This is essential to ensure that AI and formulation science are developed as tools for patient-centered and ethical healthcare.
APM event hosted by the South Wales and West of England Network (SWWE Network)
Speaker: Aalok Sonawala
The SWWE Regional Network were very pleased to welcome Aalok Sonawala, Head of PMO, National Programmes, Rider Levett Bucknall on 26 February, to BAWA for our first face to face event of 2025. Aalok is a member of APM¡¯s Thames Valley Regional Network and also speaks to members of APM¡¯s PMO Interest Network, which aims to facilitate collaboration and learning, offer unbiased advice and guidance.
Tonight, Aalok planned to discuss the importance of a PMO within project-based organisations, the different types of PMO and their key elements, PMO governance and centres of excellence.
PMO¡¯s within an organisation can be centralised, hub and spoke with a central PMO with satellite PMOs globally, or embedded within projects. The appropriate structure will be determined by the specific business needs of the organisation. The PMO sits above PM delivery and the supply chain delivery teams.
