According to the Red Cross, the demand for blood is so great that someone in the U.S. needs it every two seconds. In fact, more than 41,000 blood donations are needed every day. You can help save lives by simply taking less than an hour out of your day and stopping in at 1107 S. Rt. 31 in McHenry between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Oct. 28 and participating in the Gary Lang Auto Group Blood Drive. The drive is being held in the Cadillac showroom. Being a blood donor is an easy way to volunteer and make a big difference in helping other people, said Gary Lang, president of Gary Lang Auto Group. Itll feel great to walk out of our showroom knowing you put out your arm for a much-needed cause to help others who really need help. If youve never donated before, dont worry. Its a simple process and the procedure itself usually only lasts 7 to 12 minutes as its sandwiched between a pre-screening questionnaire and then post-donation time of rest and complimentary refreshments. For your contribution, Gary Lang Auto Group will thank you by giving you a gift bag, along with a Culvers coupon, courtesy of Heartland Blood Center. You will also be entered into a drawing for a $50 gas card. -more-
