Gender Essay
1. The influence of the society in the sexual orientation
Now days the social stance of what means being a woman or a man has change
considerably. The emergence of multiple sexual orientation (not only heterosexual) and
the people that are involve in is constantly increasing, something that wasn´t happening
years ago. So, is this raise a consequence of the social situation or a genetic issue?
First of all I need to itemize what means our sexual orientation. Having a sexual orientation
is being conscious of what we feel attracted to, sexually or romantically. This subject has
been in debate since the genetic science developed. A new and groundbreaking study
details that more than 800 gay participants in the study shared notable patterns in two
regions of the human genome - one on the X chromosome and one on chromosome 81
.
Even though I am studying Biotechnology I am not in favor of this. If homosexual
orientation were completely genetic, one would expect that it would not change over the
course of one's life, as many people do.
Why would you explain that years ago were not as many as LGBT2
as now days? It is
because the gender roles are changing. The woman has gain strength in the society by
taking important position at business while bringing up their children. That makes that the
man´s role becomes affected and with that their sexual orientation. And I would not talk
about only the homosexual people also de queers, transgender and as many sexual
orientations that exist are a consequence of the society itself.
Just to make it clear, I am not against people with those characteristics. We need to
respect that sexual preferences being whatever the reason they have to be like that. We
are conscious that an important social aspect is happening causing this phenomenon. And
we cannot do anything about it, just respect them because they are humans to.
