    Apply today and you could be a…        General Internal Medicine Doctor & Clinical Instructor for Medical Licentiates     Zambia      + 6 months      Background      Despite the overall economic outlook of Zambia seeming to be improving, many Zambians are yet to share in the benefits as    they still face socio‐economic and health development challenges.  Its healthcare system faces shortages of drugs,    equipment and qualified personnel and as part of your placement you will take up the role as expert clinician to offer clinical      instruction and mentorship to Medical Licentiates and qualified doctors. Medical Licentiates (ML) provide vital medical and      surgical skills in rural district hospitals.        What does the role involve             Provide clinical instruction to ML students during their practicum placements  Deliver lectures, mentoring, training and tutoring students  Undertake development and ensure timely implementation of capacity building interventions in order to impart  appropriate skills and knowledge  Conduct demonstrations as part of training and supervising practical work of students  Provide training and support for specialist patient care services to facilitate efficient and effective management  of patients  Manage patient care and advising hospital management on capacity building for the department as required  Provide mentorship to qualified Associate Clinicians and doctors  Train and mentoring experienced clinicians within the health facility on mentorship methodology  Mentor less experienced clinical instructors    Skills, qualifications and experience required  You need to have completed post‐graduate specialist training / Masters Degree (MMed or equivalent) in general internal  medicine (GIM). Furthermore, the candidate must have the ability to provide guidance and advice to students, requiring  sound managerial skills and knowledge in the area of GIM. It is also desirable for the candidate to have the capacity to act as  a clinical mentor and be flexible to adapt to new environments, especially with resource poor settings.     And the rest....  Zambia often being considered as ‘Africa’s diamond’, the country boasts some of the continent’s best wildlife parks and  shares some of the region’s major highlights: Victoria Falls, Lake Kariba and also Lower Zambezi National Park. Blessed with  awe‐inspiring nature and an abundance of wildlife, Zambia offers an unforgettable experience for our volunteers.     We’ll ask you to commit to 6‐12 months to make a sustainable contribution to our development goals. In return,  we’ll give you comprehensive financial, personal and professional support. We'll provide you with extensive  training before your placement, and our financial package includes a local living allowance, return flights,  accommodation, insurance and more.   To find out more...  To express your interest for this role, please email your CV to Ankita at ankita.awasthi@ivolunteer.org.in. In case  of any queries, please call +91‐11‐26217459/60. Last date to submit your CV is 15/03/2014.    www.vso.org.uk  www.ivoindia.org      VSO is a registered charity in England and Wales (313757) and in Scotland (SCO39117)
