To get your learner's licence in Queensland, you must be 17 years old, hold a learner's licence for at least 12 months, and log a minimum of 100 hours of driving experience, including 10 hours of lessons with an accredited driving instructor which counts as 30 hours. To apply for your learner's licence, you need to complete an application form, provide identification documents, and pass a 30-question written test covering road rules like drink driving laws, school zones, and hazard situations. The test is in two sections and you must correctly answer 9 out of 10 questions in the first section and 18 out of 20 in the second section. A learner's licence costs $17.25 to sit the test initially and $65.30

will need to check in advance before arriving

Do not sign the form until asked to do so
when you lodge this personally at a Dept of
Transport Office.

A Primary document (for example a birth certificate,
passport or citizenship certificate).
A Secondary document (for example a bank or credit
card with a signature).
Proof of residency (for example a paid service
account - rates, electricity or telephone - showing
your name and address).
At least one Primary or Secondary document must
include a signature.

9. What sort of Test is it ?
There are 30 questions in the general road
rules test.
The questions have multiple choice answers Each question has a number of possible
answers and you must mark the correct one.
The test has two main sections.
10. How many do I need to get right?
In Section 1, you must correctly answer nine
out of the 10 questions.
In Section 2, you must correctly answer 18
out of the 20 questions.
11. How much will it cost?
Currently QT charges $17.25 each time you
attempt the Learners Licence Test.
A Learners licence is issued on passing the
test.

A Learners licence is valid for 3 years.
12. Will I need to re-sit the test to renew
my learners?
No. You only need to pass the test once.

No. You can sit for the test once only, on any
given day.
