UNV promotes sustainable human development through volunteerism and mobilizing volunteers to support UN initiatives. It partners with governments, civil society, and UN agencies to integrate volunteerism into development programs. Each year, UNV mobilizes over 6,800 UN Volunteers from 159 countries to serve in 127 countries, working on peacebuilding, humanitarian aid, health, education and other development areas. He was promoted to this position in June 2011 after previously serving as a Protocol Officer and Liaison Officer for various organizations. Generations For Peace is a leading global non-profit peace-building organisation founded by HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein in 2007. Generations For Peace has its headquarters in Amman and a growing number of locally registered satellite offices in different countries. We are dedicated to sustainable conflict transformation at the grass roots in communities, by promoting youth leadership, community empowerment, active tolerance, and responsible citizenship. We are a volunteer movement, empowering, mentoring and supporting volunteers to be change- makers to create a better future in their own communities. In the last seven years, we have trained and mentored more than 8,500 volunteer leaders of youth in 50 countries and territories in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Europe. With our support, their ongoing programmes address local issues of conflict and violence, and have touched the lives of more than 216,000 children, youth and adults. Generations For Peace is ranked #32 in the Top 500 NGOs in the World, by Global Geneva, and is the only peace-through-sport organisation officially recognised by the International Olympic Committee. Nenad is one of our most experienced and dedicated volunteers in Republic of Serbia, and he has been instrumental in the success and growth of Generations For Peace programmes there. Having first been trained by Generations For Peace at our International Camp in Sochi in 2011, he committed himself to apply his training, leading the design and implementation of a local community programme addressing local issues of conflict and violence. Supported by the National Olympic Committee of Serbia, the programme developed an innovative Peace Caravan road-show approach, visiting schools around Serbia to engage youth in fun sport-based games integrated with peace-building education. Nenads strengths draw upon his own sports excellence and coaching background, and his work at the Ministry of Youth & Sports in Serbia, combined with his passion and energy to inspire youth and promote positive change. In 2014, Nenad was selected for further training at our International Camp in Sochi, and he continues to play a lead role as the number of Generations For Peace volunteers in Serbia, and their activities continue to grow, promoting youth leadership, community empowerment, active tolerance, and responsible citizenship.
