This document provides an introduction to international business. It outlines four learning objectives: defining multinational corporations and their operating environment; identifying MNC management goals and organizational structures; describing key theories justifying international business; and explaining common methods used to conduct international business. It then defines multinational corporations as companies with central offices and operations in one country that also operate in other countries. It provides examples of MNC management structures and reasons why firms pursue international business, describing methods like international trade, licensing, franchising, joint ventures, foreign acquisitions, and establishing foreign subsidiaries.
