Solving
CONTENT & DESIGN: The content of the first module in the
Global Impact MBA will integrate Social Issues and
Challenges, Leadership Assessment and Development,
Strategic Analysis, Social Innovation, and Systems
Assessments. The design of this module achieves the
following learning objectives:
1) build students understanding of major social challenges,
2) enhance students systems-based thinking to understand these
challenges, and
3) develop students leadership, strategic thinking and innovation
skills to address these social challenges.

2. Finance and Accounting
COMPETENCIES: Leadership, Problem-Solving, Business Acumen
CONTENT & DESIGN: The content of the third module in the Global
Impact MBA will integrate Triple Bottom Line Performance Metrics,
Business Valuation Methods and Reporting as well as Governance
Structures and Policies. The design of the module focuses on the
following learning objectives:
1) build students understanding of how organizations manage,
measure and account for financial, social and environmental
resources,
2) enhance students knowledge of how organizations report the
financial, social and environmental impact of their actions on their own
and the communitys stakeholders, and
3) develop students understanding of how organizations decide what
and how to measure and report.

3. Marketing and Operations
COMPETENCIES: Leadership, Collaboration, Business
Acumen
CONTENT & DESIGN: The content of the second module in
the Global Impact MBA will integrate Social Issues and
Challenges, Operational Efficiency, Quantitative Modeling
and Analyses, and Supplier, Employee, Customer and
Community Engagement Strategies. The learning
objectives of this module include
1) build students understanding of strategic and social challenges
in marketing and operations,
2) develop students abilities to apply quantitative modeling and
analytic methods to these challenges and
3) enhance students abilities to identify opportunities to engage
suppliers, employees, customers and communities in solutions to
these challenges.

4. Global Engagement
COMPETENCIES: Leadership, Systems Thinking, Problem Solving, Collaboration,
Business Acumen
CONTENT & DESIGN: The content of the module includes an internship and a
global study abroad. The internship will be with a regional or international
organization (for-profit, non-profit, government). The internship will build
applied business skills and social enterprise knowledge. It will also enhance the
career network and placement opportunities. Internships will be obtained
either through the Universitys network or the students efforts. The global
study abroad will consist of approximately two weeks in an international
location conducting on-the-ground study and investigation with one or more
social enterprises. The design of this module will focus on the following learning
objectives:
1) Build the students applied business skills in the field of social enterprise.
2) Enhance the students capacity to understand different social challenges,
cultural, economic and social systems and social enterprise models.
3) Develop the students abilities to analyze and assess the financial, social and
environmental sustainability of different social enterprise models.

5. Social Entrepreneurship
COMPETENCIES: Leadership, Systems Thinking, Problem Solving,
Collaboration, Business Acumen
The content of the module requires students to work in teams on an
applied capstone experience with an existing organization or a
start-up enterprise. Student teams focus on key operational and
strategic issues confronting organizations, as the organizations strive
to use business models to address social challenges. Student teams
will develop new strategic plans for existing or new enterprise. The
design of this module focuses on the following learning objectives:
1) Further deepen the students applied business skills in the field of
social enterprise.
2) Further develop the students abilities to analyze and assess the
financial, social and environmental sustainability of different social
enterprise models.
3) Enhance the students ability to develop and implement social
enterprise initiatives.
