Aim(s)
- Students will be able to use some strategies of reading comprehension
(scanning and skimming) which help their understanding.
- Students will be able to comprehend writer’s feelings and opinion.
PRE- TASK
55 minute
Teacher is going to put on the board some
pictures and there will be some words with its
meaning on the tablet
Annex 1
Then teacher is going to sing a song “ hot
potatoes” the student, who will have a ball, will
pass in front of the board and take a sentences
and put on the picture which he / she will think it
is related
Then teacher will ask students to give some
examples using the previous words in their life
Example: “ Rebel”
- “ FARC are a rebel group in Colombia “
Then teacher will show them a short movie
about the Hunger Games with subtitles in
English
Then teacher clarifies students that the topic it’s
not about movie, but it is book review
TASK
45 minutes
Activity 1
1) teacher will give them a text and a worksheet
about a crossword which they have to write it
the answer according to the question
Annex 2
Activity 2
Teacher will ask them what they understand the
topic.
Then teacher choose or ask a volunteer to pass
in front of her/his partners, then this person will
roll the dice and according to the number fallen
she or he is going to answer the question
which will be stuck on the board as a card.

POST-TASK
20 minutes According to the last exercise
Students are going to create a blog about
reality shows in Colombia. In this blog they are
going to write their opinions about it and look for
some information about other people who
thinks the same way if It’s good or bad for them
as viewers. And What will their proposal be to
create a better TV alternative for viewers? .
The deadline will be 2 weeks to send teacher .
