METHODS OF FUNDING
CONNECTING TO THE BRIEF
In regards to funding for our feature film this is the
information I am given which in all honesty, offers me
freedom to explore many different possibilities for my
funding plan…
These two sections taken directly from the brief I believe
are the main features affiliated to my focus on funding:
ï‚¢ Funding: Negotiable via local screen agency
ï‚¢ Media/events: Narrative feature film, with scope for
transmedia extensions and online campaign
3 STEPS TO SUCCESS
From a simple perspective these are the 3 steps in
regards to the funding plan, these are the 3 steps
that I have researched into and will share during
this pitch…
ï‚¢ The artists international development fund attained
ï‚¢ Crowdfunding plan target achieved
ï‚¢ Production company investment
INITIAL GRANT
The artists international development fund is jointly funded
by the British council and artists council England.
This is the company that represent our local backing to
later target the international audience.
The average amount of grant from this development fund is
£4500, this is a positive as it will provide us with good
capital, in order to fund our Kickstarter campaign.
BREAKDOWN OF EXPENSES
ART COUNCIL GRANT
INITIAL CROWDFUNDING
The advantages of crowdfunding is that we get an
audience/set of fans involved very early on in the
process.
We are going to use crowdfunding as capital, to attract
talented actors and the script copyright.
The next slide will show a breakdown of the total funds we
need from the Kickstarter and what they are going to
invested into.
BREAKDOWN OF
CROWDFUNDING CAPITAL
ATTRACTING INVESTMENT
Target to achieve from Kickstarter campaign –
£23,000
For the following pledge amount we will reward:
£20.00 - Artwork signed by chosen actor
£50.00 - On-set extra as infected
£100.00 - Artwork signed by all staff and actors
£150.00 - All of the above
PRODUCTION COMPANY
After we attain our capital from the crowdfunding
campaign we plan to take the concept (copyrighted
script) along with proof that our main actor is
prepared to take part in the feature film to an
international production company.
The success of the Kickstarter campaign will also
show that the film is building a devoted fan base at
the earliest stages of pre-production.
