1) Companies should not try to eliminate grapevine communication. The grapevine is an informal network that spreads information rapidly and can help employees in their work.
2) While the grapevine cannot be stopped, managers should understand what information is being shared and provide accurate information to correct any false rumors.
3) There are ways for managers to deal with the grapevine such as finding out why information is being communicated and correcting misinformation. If managed properly, the grapevine can be used as a channel between employees and management in an organization.
