This document outlines the goals and business prospects of a Vietnamese-Danish partnership. The partnership aims to [1] develop Vietnam's construction industry through training and demonstration projects using sustainable building techniques, [2] establish a training center in Ho Chi Minh City to teach energy efficient "Active House" design principles using Danish and Vietnamese materials, and [3] help Danish suppliers establish local production partnerships. The centerpiece project is to build a 600 square meter Active House in Vietnam as a showcase, training location, and proof of concept for the partnership's green business and knowledge transfer objectives.

3. How did this Vietnamese-Danish partnership happen?
The UCN story:
In June 2012, we went on a study trip to HCMC to meet up with
3 universities and 11 companies.
Our meeting partners told us about three challenges:
1. We need knowledge about energy defining architecture and
energy technology
2. We need sustainable building materials that can make our
dreams of energy defining architecture real.
3. We need partners such as architects, engineers and
entrepreneurs with practical experience .
4. The Vision
1. Develop the construction industry in Vietnam
2. Higher level of knowledge - design & construction of buildings
that do not consume more energy than they produce (active
houses)
3. Demonstrate this knowledge in practise by building a 600m2 in
HCMC as an ACTIVE HOUSE using Danish & Vietnamese
sustainable building materials
4. Use the ACTIVE HOUSE when built as a training / knowledge
transfer center and showcase for DK + VN sustainable building
materials
5. We want to do it together with partners, who share the dream of
promoting energy efficiency in building and construction
