The document discusses the Arctic 30 case, where 30 environmental activists from around the world were arrested and charged with piracy after protesting against oil drilling in the Arctic. They spent 2 months in prison in Russia before most were granted bail, except for Colin Russell. The document then proposes 3 gamified solutions to raise awareness for their case and encourage people to take action by contacting their local Russian embassy.

2. THE ARCTIC 30
30 men and women are accused of hooliganism in Russia for a peaceful
protest against oil drilling in the fragile Arctic. After spending two
months in prison, all but one of the 30 were granted release on bail.
Colin Russell was refused bail, and instead given three more months of
detention.
3. WHY THEY STAND UP
28 activists were involved in a protest against the Gazprom Arctic drilling
platform Prirazlomnaya on September 18th. Two of the activists tried to
climb the side of the platform to hang a banner. One day later, Russian
security services descended from a helicopter onto the deck of the
Greenpeace ship Arctic Sunrise, seized the ship at gunpoint and
detained the entire crew.
The activists were at the Gazprom platform because they felt compelled to
bear witness to the slow, unrelenting destruction of the Arctic. As the
ice is retreating, oil companies are moving north to drill for the fuels
that drive that melting.
4. THE TREAT
Colin and all of the Arctic 30 still face serious charges and could spend
years in prison if convicted for a crime they did not commit.
6. MELTING THE ICE
An e-mail can be a powerful tool. So powerful that
can crack the ice surrounding the ARTIC 30.
Here people can fill up a form and send an e-mail
to the local Russian Embassy as protest. Every
letter is counted and each letter
counts, because embassies must report back
to the government.
The Action can make the difference, but every
action needs an effort.
7. SOLUTION 1
THE BIG PICTURE
People joining together are capable of great thing when engaged in the right way.
Instead of a simple mail, let the mail count, be a building block of the protest.
For each e-mail sent we can add a puzzle piece to a community big picture (insert
actual url of the site) which will be the monument of the Artic 30 action.
Each user sending a mail contributes to the unveiling of the image and ears a badge
as token of his/her action.

10. SOLUTION 3

User must create a small video and share it on VINE with the global hashtag
#FreeTheArtic30 and a personal hashtag #MyArtic30HashTag ( a
