Greg Gullberg, reporter and anchor for WCYB in Tennessee, knows the true meaning of compassion. He draws from personal experience when interviewing people connected with tragedies or life altering events. This gives him a unique take on how the news and news reporters deal with tragic events, and it translates to his interviews. Greg lost his older brother in an airplane accident in December of 2013, and spent many hours being the subject of interviews across St Louis.
Gregory Gullberg became a local sensation with his coverage on a stranded boat at sea. He captured the whole scene on Jet Ski with his Go-Pro, recognizing the need to document the event with whatever equipment he had available. On its maiden voyage, the 174-foot-long casino ship Escapade was about 1.8 miles off the north end of Tybee Island, a popular beach destination east of Savannah, Georgia. The Coast Guard received reports that the vessel had run aground around midnight, officials said.
Gregory Richard Gullberg journalist was on hand to record the events as they unfolded, on the scene before anyone else. Even as a young child in St. Louis, Greg knew he was destined to be a news reporter. His education at the University of Oklahoma and his internship at CNN taught him the business side of reporting, but his natural instinct and compassion provided him with something more, and that is what sets him apart.
