GRGPS - TESOL Macedonia-Thrace 21st Convention
This document outlines the steps and activities involved in a literature and translation project. It includes selecting a text to translate, establishing rules for translation, drafting and revising the translation, evaluating the original and translated texts, preparing presentations, and sharing the work with other students worldwide via video and online platforms. Students will translate a poem by Odysseas Elytis from Greek to English, analyzing the original text, working through vocabulary, grammar, and cultural equivalents. They will also analyze a poem by C.P. Cavafy, discussing deeper meanings and working independently with dictionaries to focus on proper recitation. The goal is to gain experience with literary translation and analysis through a collaborative project.
