Snap ups (Grasshopper): Pattern Snap ups This is a fun paper craft of a brightly-colored grasshopper, that springs up into the air. Push down on his body to make him flat, hold him down with your finger, then quickly let go and watch how the rubber band makes him jump! Adjust the way you control him to make his jumps even more lively. When you finish construction, put it inside a book or card to give someone a surprise when they open it up! *The rubber band can make the toy fly in an unexpected direction. Parents, please make sure that children play with it safely to avoid injuries. Assembly Instructions Tools and Materials Scissors, an elastic band, a set square, glue (eg. woodworking glue), a thin cylindrical object, a Mountain fold spatula, a dried-up pen, Make a mountain fold. toothpicks, tweezers (to use when threading the elastic band through holes). Assembly Tip Valley fold Make a valley fold. Before gluing, crease the paper along mounrain fold and valley fold lines and make sure rounded sections are nice and stiff.
