Guaymas, Sonora was founded in 1703 and has a population of over 140,000 inhabitants. It is located 117 km south of Hermosillo, the capital of Sonora. Guaymas is one of Mexico's main ports on the Pacific coast and was historically known for shrimp fishing and oyster catching, though it now relies more on maquiladora industry and tourism. The city has beautiful scenery combining the sea, desert, and Tetakawi mountains. Tourist attractions include beaches for water sports and the Mart鱈nez Marcos Russek Museum displaying archaeology and local history.

The port of Guaymas, Sonora, sister city of Santa Rosalia, Baja California Sur, which was founded in 1703, is a progressive city that offers visitors many attractions in its landscapes, services and entertainment, in the city center can be appreciate the colonial legacy, estimated around the town of Guaymas population of over 140 thousand inhabitants.
