The document discusses requirements and costs for obtaining a degree from Harvard Extension School. It notes that no SAT, GRE, or campus residency is required. Students need a minimum GPA after taking three courses, one of which must be academic writing, and can transfer up to 64 credits for a bachelor's. Tuition is significantly lower than Harvard College, with a bachelor's costing around $42,000. The Extension School offers Harvard professors and resources at a lower cost.

Harvard Degree, No SAT or GRE
1. A number of contacts have messaged me recently asking for
more information about a Harvard degree, no SAT or GRE
required. The answer is: Harvard Extension School.
Here is the link: http://www.extension.harvard.edu/
In brief, here are the requirements:
* Take three (3) courses. Earn a GPA of B, minimum. One course
must be EXPO 25 Academic Writing and Critical Reading.
* Apply to a BA or MA program.
* Pass the online Academic Integrity tutorials.
* Maintain an undergraduate GPA of at least C; graduate, B.
* A minimum TOEFL score of 100 is required. If you don¡¯t have a
TOEFL score of at least 100, don¡¯t panic: There are ways to earn a
100 while you study your first three classes at Harvard.
* Transfer students can transfer 64 of 128 undergrad credits.
* For the BA, four (4) courses must be taken on the Harvard
campus. The others, some 28 courses, can be taken online or on
campus, or in a combination of online and campus classes.
Tuition
Here is where you will earn significant value in addition to your
2. Harvard degree: you will save a boatload of money.
Undergraduate tuition at Harvard is $43,938 per year in 2015. If
you live on campus, Room and Board will cost $14,669 in 2015.
That sums to $58,607 yearly, or $234,428 over four (4) years. And
costs go up every year.
The cost of a Harvard BA degree from the Extension School is
approximately the cost of one year¡¯s tuition at Harvard College.
And value is essential
Tuition for each course is about $1,250 (that¡¯s about $300 per credit). With no
transfer credit, you can earn the entire bachelor¡¯s degree for about $42,000.
There are also financial aid options available.

Tuition for MA degrees:
Tuition that¡¯s affordable
Graduate-credit tuition is $2,200 a course. In total, tuition is roughly $27,000.
After you are admitted, financial aid options are available.

Of course, your costs will rise due to the requirement for four (4)
on-campus classes. Also, your costs will rise if, like other
students, you move to the Boston-Cambridge area to attend the
Extension School full-time, and to take advantage of Harvard
resources. But the fact remains that, studying online, you can
earn a BA from Harvard Extension School for a fraction of the
cost of tuition plus living expenses at Harvard College, or an MA
from Harvard University.
Extension School: benefits
In addition to a Harvard degree at much lower cost, you can take
all your classes with Harvard professors. You can benefit from
many Harvard resources, and ¨C after you are admitted ¨C financial
aid options. When you finish your degree, you will march in the
same graduation ceremony as all the other graduating Harvard
students, thus earning Lian Ę + Mianzi Ãæ×Ó for yourself, your
parents and your grandparents.
Be warned: it¡¯s demanding
4. The Harvard Extension School is very rigorous. I know this from
personal experience because I studied Marketing there 1991-
1992. I was working full-time, so I figured I would take one
course per term, and devote every Saturday to study. I was
wrong. To earn top scores and stay at the head of the class, I
studied all day Saturday, all day Sunday, and often Monday
evenings. My Global Marketing professor told me I wrote the
best Case Studies in the class of 45-50 students ¨C but he gave me
only an A- for a final score!
Plus it¡¯s super competitive. Most of the students are young
professionals who are highly motivated. For example, one of my
classmates earned his BA degree from Harvard Extension
School; he then went on to graduate Harvard Law School.
Special note:
Harvard Extension School does not issue the I-20 required for an
F-1 student visa. Harvard Summer School does issue the I-20.
The F-1 is now good for multiple entries over 5-10 years, thus
international students will have plenty of time to fulfill the
requirement for four (4) on-campus classes, or even to study full-
time at Harvard.
