FCPA Self-Reporting Pilot Program: Motivation to Self-Report?Brian DickersonThe Department of Justice launched a one-year pilot program to promote transparency and accountability in enforcing the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). The program provides incentives for companies to self-report FCPA violations by offering up to a 50% reduction in penalties for full cooperation. It also considers not requiring a monitor or declining prosecution if a company demonstrates an effective compliance program. The goal is to motivate voluntary disclosures over waiting to get caught. However, the DOJ maintains flexibility in determining how much credit to provide. The program applies only to the DOJ's Fraud Section and expires after one year pending review.
Remembrance day - What is it?Unair CastAt 11am on 11 November 1918, the guns fell silent on the Western Front, marking the end of World War I after over four years of continuous warfare. The Allied armies had driven back the German invaders over the preceding four months, inflicting heavy defeats. In November, Germany called for an armistice to secure a peace settlement, accepting Allied terms that amounted to unconditional surrender. This first modern world conflict mobilized over 70 million people and left between 9-13 million dead, perhaps a third with no known grave.
Social Media Metrics and Politics FinalhsolonynkaSocial media is transforming how political campaigns operate and engage with voters. Politicians can now customize their messages based on analytics and reach millions of people online. Barack Obama saw a huge increase in his Twitter followers between the 2008 and 2012 elections, showing how social media is becoming a major campaign tool. The 2016 election may see social media play an even bigger role, as candidates like Hillary Clinton have large social media presences they can use to promote their messages. However, more research is still needed to fully understand how social media data can predict election outcomes and how politicians can best leverage these new platforms.

ICH assembled a team of IT acquisition experts from nonprofits and academia to conduct a study and provide DHS with agile acquisition best practices and methods critical to securing the homeland.

Elements of Ultrasonic Machining by Himanshu VaidHimanshu VaidThe document discusses ultrasonic machining (USM), including its principles, equipment, and applications. USM involves flooding the machining zone with an abrasive slurry and using ultrasonic vibrations to remove material from both the tool and workpiece. The key components are a high power generator, transducer, tool holder, and tool. Material is removed through indentation and fracture caused by abrasive particles. USM can machine hard, brittle materials and produces burr-free results but has low material removal rates and high tool wear.

It provides an overall assessment of how the plan has evolved in response to previous input and recommendations. The committee finds improvements but notes ongoing challenges, and provides recommendations to guide future strategic planning efforts.

Ця титанічна праця вилилась у сорокотомне видання "Українських народних казок".
