LINE-BY-LINE MEANING: Stanza 1 He had such quiet eyes His eyes were calm and quiet She did not realise She did not know They were two pools of His eyes were like two lies pools filled with lies
LINE-BY-LINE MEANING: Stanza 1 Layered with thinnest ice Thinly veiled, like very thin ice To her, those quiet eyes To the woman, those calm and quiet eyes Were breathing desolate Looked very sad and alone sighs
LINE-BY-LINE MEANING: Stanza 1 Imploring her to be nice The eyes were begging her to be nice to him To her, those quiet eyes To the woman, those calm and quiet eyes And to give him happiness And to render him to and pleasure so that he paradise would feel like he was in paradise (heaven)

LINE-BY-LINE MEANING: Stanza 2 The woman wished she If only shed been wise had been wiser in her past actions And she had listened to And had listened to the the sound advice given to advice her by people who cared about her They had advised her not Never to compromise to give up her moral values or principles
LINE-BY-LINE MEANING: Stanza 2 When she was with men With pleasure-seeking who wanted only pleasure guys and fun If she had listened to Shed be free from the them, she would not be hows and whys haunted by questions of hows and whys and the difficult situation she was in.

LINE-BY-LINE MEANING: Stanza 3 Now heres a bit of Let me give you a bit of advice advice Be sure that nice really Make sure that the person means nice you think is nice, is truly sincere and trustworthy Then youll never be Then, you will not lose in a losing at dice game of chance or a game of love where you can lose your heart to an unworthy man
