Helen is a literary magazine based in Las Vegas, Nevada.
We seek pieces that feature a distinct flavor and sentiment of Vegas culture, the kind of stories that highlight the ordinary as well as the extraordinary. We appreciate well-written literary fiction and artwork in all genres.
Our focus is on expanding the perspective of the city and greater Southern Nevadan area as well as giving a special spotlight to the local and diverse talent living here and originally from here.
The name Helen was inspired by the First Lady of Las Vegas, Helen J. Stewart, a pioneer who helped forge the valley in the 1860s.
Our introduction presentation here illustrates the types of work we're looking for publishing in our magazine.
We accept work through Submittable and are looking for short stories, poetry, spoken word, short film, photography, artwork, and creative nonfiction.
