This document provides a checklist for selecting an evaluator to conduct an evaluation study. The checklist contains 5 criteria for evaluating potential evaluators: (1) their formal training and qualifications, (2) previous evaluation experience, (3) alignment of professional orientation with the evaluation approach, (4) prior performance on similar projects, and (5) personal styles and characteristics. For each criterion, the potential evaluator is to be assessed as well qualified, not well qualified, or it cannot be determined if they are qualified. The summary at the end combines these assessments to determine if the potential evaluator is overall well qualified and acceptable to conduct the evaluation.
