The document describes a home automation system that controls home appliances. It has three main parts: hardware, software, and an Arduino controller. The software uses two GUIs - one for a smart phone and one for a computer. It was developed for Android and allows users to control connected appliances from their phone by touching icons. The Arduino controller sends signals to relays and output devices. A Bluetooth module enables communication between the system and a mobile device to remotely control appliances without changing the home's infrastructure.

SOFTWARE
DESCRIPTION
Software design includes the main functions of
the system designed in the form of two GUIs.
It is developed on Android which is a mobile
operating systemcurrently developed by
Google, based on Linux Kernel.
GUI tested on smart phone with Version 4.0.4
(Ice Cream Sandwich). The interface is simple
to use, user can simply touch on the icon to
turn on/off the appliances after connected to
the Window GUI or direct to the main control
board.
It has ARDUINO
controller which
provides the
necessary signals
for the output
devices
connected.
Relays are
connected in the
circuit to isolate the
AC appliances with
the microcontroller.
It has a Bluetooth
module which is
responsible for
communicating to
the mobile device
or smart phone.
Introduction
Home Automation isa wireless home appliance
controlsystem accessed by a remotedevice such as
mobile phone(Android or IOs) to allow a home
owner to control, monitor and coordinatehome
appliances, without changing the home
infrastructure.
It is built around a microcontroller, with adjoining
relaysfor interfacing with AC devices. There will be
sensors for thesystem to operateautomatically
according to weather conditions.
