Directions: For this module, we have been learning about travel in Canada. For todays
activity, you will be practicing a role-play related to booking a hotel room. This is something
that is essential to the language needed for travel. Find a partner and develop a role-play
for making a hotel reservation.
Receptionist: Good afternoon. How can I help you?
Guest: Hi! Id like to make a reservation / Hi there! I was wondering if I could make a
reservation? / Hi! Would I be able to make a reservation please?
Receptionist: When will you be arriving? /What date were you planning to arrive? / Sure!
When will you be arriving?
Guest: I will be arriving on September 21st
/ Ill be there on September 21st

Receptionist: Ok. How many people will be in your party? / How many people will be
staying with you? /Great! For how many people?
Guest: There will be two of us. / Just two please. / Myself and my wife/ husband/
sister/ friend etc.
Receptionist: For how many nights? / How many nights will you be staying? / How long will
you be staying?
Guest: For 2 nights. / I will be there until the 23rd
. How much is it going to be for
each night? / What is the total going to be? How much will that cost? / How
much do you charge per night?
Receptionist: The cost per night is $99.95. What is your name? / What name will the
