E-bus design charter: an inspiration
for innovation in rail vehicles ?
Yo Kaminagai | yo.kaminagai@ratp.fr | @yok75
Projects management department
The present buses:
an evolution driven
by the technologies
No expression of the electric modernity
Visible fairings of technical outgrowths
Weird interiors due to technical
constraints
ELECTRIC
DIESEL
Exteriors Interiors
GAS
HYBRID
A design charter for
innovative E-buses
21 concepts distributed along the
customer journey, described in 8 steps.
The vehicle as an aggregator of the
concepts, not a project by itself
Concept example #1:
recognisable exterior
A concept illustrated (and not a
design project illustrated)
Added values for each stakeholder
(passengers, operators, cities,
manufacturers)
Concept example #2:
comfortable interior
A keyword summarizing each concept
A radical illustration to emphasize the
concept
SCENARIO
Action towards the
bus ecosystem
Target the buyers (PTA or PTO) and the
furnishers (manufacturers)
Let the stakeholders select a few concepts
from the scenario for incremental upgrade
