career successful
7 effective steps
Dr.E.J.Sarma

Step-1
Finally You got an MBA HR? Did not get hired in campus?
Degree is a very small step and not apassport to great job
How much knowledge you got and retained will ensure success.
I have interviewed tons of HR graduates who do not even answer
correctly the question on implications of maslows model on
employee motivation and retention
Do not know difference between behavior and attitude

Step-2
Even if you cant remember everything and you did all your
projects in copy paste manner ,it is worth while to revisit those
projects and firm up the concepts .
That will go long way in building capability in one area.
Be it compensation, reward management , performance
management etc

Step-3
Did not get job easily after MBA?
 Are you frustrated ?
Will you settle for any job?
Do not do that .i know of many MBAs who have ended up in payroll
 Attendance monitoring etc

Step-4
Get more clout by getting some depth in tools .
 Thomas profiling,MBTA, 16PF etc

Step-7
Prove your strength in the first job within few months of joining
I remember my first job .first day. I joined when the strike was on and
got gheraoed
Did not even know how to face that situation. Felt like resigning from
the job
When I faced it for 3 months, the learning was tremendous and got
rewarded as well .
11/24/2017HR success
One final word
HR job is not that paying job. Constantly you need to fight as
managements will discriminate MBA-HR from MBA finance or IT
