NAMECURRENT CITY WHERE YOU ARE LIVING PHONE NUMBER E-MAIL OBJECTIVE: This is where you explain what you want to study and why. EDUCATION: SCHOOL NAME, DATE STARTED DATE ENDED Program You Studied City/Country Where School Is Located Program you studied Projects or assignments you worked on GPA or percentage of marks Extra activities that you did in this school Awards that you earned (example: scholarships, top student) WORK EXPERIENCE: COMPANY NAME, DATE STARTED DATE ENDED JOB TITLE CITY/COUNTRY WHERE YOU WORKED What did you do? Who did you work with? More training and classes you took Other accomplishments ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The information can be anything that will help to sell you as a strong academic student. You may want to include ONE of the following: Volunteer Experience Other awards and certificates Who did you work with? Why was your job important? Where did you work in the company (what department)? How did this job help you become better? SKILLS: The list of skills here should be hard skills. This means that they are skills that are very specific. They should not be soft skills. You should list 5-6 hard skills related to the program you are applying to. HARD SKILLS: SOFT SKILLS: Marketing & Business Development Mathematic Design & Architecture Friendly & Kind Company Management Hardworking in all jobs Can work in a team REFERENCES NAME OF REFERENCE TITLE OF REFERENCE LOCATION OF REFERENCE How you worked with your reference? Hard Skills are related to things you have learned how to do. They are NOT related to your personality. You should always list your Hard Skills. The OBJECTIVE is only 1-2 sentences, & explains what you want to study (ie - Microbiology & Pathogens in Biology) & WHY (what are your future goals?). The EDUCATION section of the CV is always the most important. You need to explain a lot of details about what you learned in High School, College and/or University. You also need to add lots of information about work experience. It can be paid work, unpaid work, in school, in a company, in a family business, in an office, or anywhere else. Try to always think of any kind of work that you have done! Depending on the program you have applied to in College/University, you may need to add extra information about yourself. Try to keep this section simple & organized. LIST the details. References should be previous high school or post secondary school teachers or employers.
