The HR-1001ULL is an inspection robot designed to climb up large diameter wind towers carrying a 15 lb payload such as a camera. It uses a minimalist design with 5 magnetic wheels for stability to climb towers over 8 feet tall. The robot is less than 45 lbs and is controlled by an Arduino system to keep it pointed upward during operation using accelerometers and gyros. It was tested in winter conditions with high winds and snow with no issues.
