Our program in Russia (and Senegal

Math in the coming months as we grow.

Senegal: West Africa and the
African-American Connection
West Africa and America share so much
common heritage! That legacy remains today in
everything from food,music, art, architecture,
religion, and the vibrant African- American
diaspora that lives on today. This course
provides an overview of West African history
and its connection with the Americas. It looks at
the cultural heritage that remains and provides
an overview of Senegalese culture and current
events today for visiting Americans. We also
examine careers in international development.

Senegal: Peace for Prosperity Youth
Leadership Program
The program includes six peace youth
leadership modules combined with
opportunities to enjoy Senegal¡¯s vibrant
art,culture, history, and nature while
exploring careers in peace and conflict
resolution or various jobs in international
development. Students learn ways to work
across cultural and worldview differences by
drawing on a range of creative tools such as
using art, the power of storytelling,improv
techniques, games, interactive multi-media,
and simulations to prevent, understand, and
transform conflict.
This i-Ed initiative was inspired by the 2001 PBS
television program: Tutu and Franklin: A Journey
Towards Peace.
