This document outlines a 5-week integrated unit on patterns. In week 1, students will explore number patterns involving addition and subtraction. They will generalize number relationships and create increasing and decreasing patterns. Later weeks involve exploring patterns in shapes, music, dance, the environment, and artwork. The goal is for students to experience and understand patterns in diverse ways across different key learning areas to develop algebraic understanding, mathematical reasoning, and logical thinking.
