In 1948, James Newby proposed an idea to promote cultural and technological exchange between countries by having top students from around the world complete internships in other countries. This gave rise to the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE). Over 60 years later, IAESTE connects over 7,000 students from 95 countries with internship opportunities in over 4,000 organizations worldwide each year. The organization helps companies find talented international students and recent graduates for internships and full-time positions.
