1. The Israel Association of Valuators and Financial Actuaries
(IAVFA)
Hello,
We are pleased to announce that we have established the Israel Association of Valuators and
Financial Actuaries (IAVFA), to represent the practitioners who work in those fields vis-a-via
the regulators and the public institutions in Israel and abroad (i.e., government ministries and
the IVSC).
Valuators analyze and measure the value of corporations, intangible assets and complex
financial instruments for financial reporting and transaction purposes. Financial actuaries map,
model, measure, and manage market, credit and operational risks for compliance with
regulatory directives and minimizing financial loss purposes.
Both practitioners are using the same measurement methods, economic data and
reasonableness tests for measuring assets and liabilities. However, while the valuator
measures the value (i.e., the mean) the financial actuary measures the risk (i.e., the volatility).
Therefore, a valuator and a financial actuary are complementary professions and can be seen
as one field.
IAVFA has been established in order to voluntarily regulate the field of valuations and financial
actuarial science in Israel, and promote the professional status of its practitioners as a senior,
significant and Influential position, within the financial services, banking, insurance and
investment sectors.
The membership in IAVFA gives you access to a professional corporate and quantitative
valuations library, databases, sophisticated calculation tools, updated professional material,
networking, job placement services, online Q&As, roundtable forum, a stage for publishing
professional articles and papers, and discounts on participation in designation programs,
continuing professional education programs, conferences, training seminars and workshops.
We call you to join IAVFA as a member, in order to stand out to top employers, develop your
knowledge and skills, join an elite group, demonstrate your leadership, validate your
professional achievements and improve your reputation among practitioners in those fields.
