Traditionally one of the highest scoring aspects of our exams
Skills taught starting in grade 9
 Origins-Purpose-Values-Limits
 DBQ project 
 4 to 6 DBQs taught, assessed in the 9th grade (World History/United States Government)
 2-3 DBQs taught, assessed in 10th grade (United States History)
Create-a-DBQ (IB style)
Working in groups  create a DBQ AND the markscheme
Provide students with sources
 Key aspect or students spend the time searching and not actually creating
 Sample IB Paper 1
Topic: Canadian Confederation 1840-1867
 Need to develop a narrow focus using the documents
Time to work
Working in groups  examine the sources and develop a focus for the DBQ
Identify the sources you would useremember only 4 sources  1 of which should be a visual
