Traditional women's clothing in Suvalkija, Lithuania was characterized by rich, deep colors like dark blue, dark red, purple and green. Women's shirts had extra-wide, lavishly enveloping sleeves, mostly white but sometimes decorated with beautiful plant ornaments. Women also wore aprons with intricate weaving techniques and the most splendid lily designs, which were the most impressive part of the costume. Married women additionally wore ornate caps with peaks and ribbons above their plaits. Men's clothing featured dark colors with bright trim.
