ABOUT ICYEN

Islamic Countries Young Entrepreneurs Network (ICYEN) is a professional support
reaction to the reality in which young entrepreneurs in the Muslim World face a wide
array of obstacles in local and Global business environments around The World.

ICYEN is established as diplomatic organization affiliated to the Islamic Conference
Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation (ICYF-DC) affiliated to the Organization of
Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

APPROVALS ICYEN

24th Session of the OIC Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial
Cooperation (COMCEC) in its resolution OIC/COMCEC/24-08/Res.(1)
(Istanbul, October 2008) welcomed “establishment of ICYEN and called
upon specialized bodies in the OIC member states to cooperate with ICYF-
DC in implementation of the programs and projects aimed at the
development of the ICYEN as a youth network”.

Further on, 38th Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (ICFM) in
its latest resolution 8/38-C (Astana, May 2011) “endorsed program of ICYEN
aimed at developing of youth entrepreneurship in the OIC Member States
and the growth in youth employment; and called on the OIC Member States
to contribute towards its development.”


MOTIVATIONS ICYEN

ICYEN’s MISSION is to find, nurture and develop the young muslim entrepreneurs in all Islamic
countries and muslim communities in non-Islamic countries.

ICYEN’s VISION is to give professional support to young muslim entrepreneurs for improving their
competitiveness and success in Global business environments.

ICYEN’s OBJECTIVES
• Improve the awareness on entrepreneurship in Muslim World,
• Be the best platform for business, networking and learning,
• Promote partnerships between entrepreneurs and investors,
• Be the best database of unique projects to support and invest in.

ICYEN’s TARGETS
• Develop a web site for networking and project database,
• Efficient use of social media, online/offline advertising & events,
• Establish the regional coordination offices,
• Build up successful projects and partnerships.
• Organize summits, regional and national networking meetings.

Starting with 57 OIC member countries, and many Non-OIC countries; ICYEN will be supporting
Muslim entrepreneurs in more than 85 countries in 2012. ICYEN has 6 regions & regional
coordinators, and 24 member countries so far.

Before the end of 2012 ICYEN aims to have 2 more regions, with many more new members.

CLASSIFICATION ICYEN

ICYEN is membership based network to support the Young Enrepreneurs of Muslim
World. The budget of the network consists of membership fees and related funds.

The membership and fee levels for National Coordinators & Focal Points as A-B-C
regarding to their countries’ economic situations, by taking into account the practices of
international organizations as OIC, IDB, World Bank, IMF, and UNDP.

RESPONSIBILITIES ICYEN

The president, the regional coordinators, ICYEN HQ and the all national member types
(national coordinators, national focal points, national members and associates) are
named as «members» in below given major responsibilities:

 Members are responsible for representation of ICYEN in all levels of business and institutions
for sustaining the awareness and interest in ICYEN’s mission, vision, objectives and aims to
make ICYEN the strongest enrepreneurship & networking organization of the Muslim World .

 Members are responsible for finding new members & investors and mainly innovative projects
from their regions & countries. Any regional coordinator has to find at least 10 projects in every
year, moreover by the effective support of all members.

 ICYEN is a membership based organization. All members have to support ICYEN with their
membership payment in given times. Coordination and audit of membership fee payments will
be hierarchical based on ICYEN’s organization structure.

 All regional coordinators have to assign at least one person, or a group of
people, moreover establish an office in their regions to follow up the projects,
payments, investments and general coordination of the region.

SUCCESS ACTIONS ICYEN

The given success actions focus on membership, projects, events, and meetings;
 ICYEN will have 2 more Regional Coordinator from Americas and Ocenia regions, and at least
«one member» from every country in the World. All members are responsible for enlarging the
membership base in countries.

 Every member must focus on 5 THINGS to DO in every year for success of ICYEN;
 Bring at least 1 project to database,
 Invest at least 1 project from database,
 Partner with at least 1 member,
 Employ at least 1 person, and trainees & interns from network.

 Members involve in any local entrepreneurship & related business events, and individual
meetings with investors & instutions to increase awareness on ICYEN.
 Members use the all marketing materials of ICYEN, as putting logo to website, using official
presentations & brochures, and mail signature.
 Members continiously feedback for any issues to improve ICYEN.

 Attend to all mandatory meetings in local & Global.
