Talk to HR to explain the situation and request a transfer to a department that aligns with one's studies and interests. Seek out others in similar situations to form a support group for networking and advice on finding new opportunities. Create a social media page or join virtual groups to connect with others in the local area and discuss options, as referrals are often the cheapest way for companies to hire.

• Talk to HR • Talk to the HR of the company, and explain the situation. I did not know what I was getting into. Can I change my department? This is what I have studied, and I think based on my studies and my liking I want a job where in I can be productive. • Create a Group • Seek out similar set of people in the workplace and create a group. Network , talk and see how one can help each other. Be the support group to what one is looking for. Each person will know someone which will in turn make the network grow. • Create a Social Page • Create a social page or join a virtual group. Seek out people within the city and connect. Discuss and seek advice and listen. Most companies have a referral program. It is the cheapest way to onboard a person into the company.
