20 high school students from 2 schools spent 2 days and 1 night at an IDO CAMP 2011 in Bukit Lawang, Indonesia. The camp aimed to make the students future leaders by teaching them computer/IT lessons, environmental awareness, and exposing them to cultural exchange. Students learned about an open source operating system and programs, and topics like internet browsing, email, and blogging. They participated in traditional cultural performances and games. Outdoor activities furthered their environmental education before concluding the camp. The OranguVan program is a mobile unit that visits Bukit Lawang and Tangkahan with books, laptops, and movies to promote environmental education.
