23. Vision BIM Lifecycle Operations
Community of Practice
The intent of the BIM Lifecycle Operations COP is to
expose IFMA members to the full potential and value
of BIM and associated practices such as Integrated
Project Delivery (IPD) and Lean practices throughout
the Design/Build/Own/Operate lifecycle of the built
environment.
Representing the Facility Management profession of
the Owner/Operator community, IFMA has a unique
opportunity to play a significant role in the
development of the policies, procedures,
methodologies and standards currently being created.
Our community of practice faces the risk having to live
with less than desirable deliverables by not being
involved.
24. Goals / Outcomes BIM Lifecycle Operations
Community of Practice
Desired outcomes from this COP:
Bring industry experts together with interested IFMA members in both in-person
and virtual sessions to share knowledge and advance to practice and development
of BIM and the Facility Management profession
Collaborate with NIBS/bSa and other associations in the development and use of
BIM
Identify and create educational materials for IFMA members worldwide
Increase IFMA membership via interest and participation in this COP
Develop an IFMA BIM Professional Certification
Increase the exposure and value of the IFMA brand by being known as the
thought leaders in BIM for Lifecycle Operations.
