Clearly state what production technique(s) you think have
been used to create specific soundtrack elements
The setting is the suburban streets of los Santos and involves two of the main
characters Trevor and Franklin. It is a calm afternoon and Trevor pays Franklin a
little visit at his auntie’s house. His auntie has just left the house to go for a freedom
jog with fellow middle aged women.
There is a very tense and confused mood as Trevor is in a particularly crazy mood
shouting and screaming at franklin. However Franklin is confused and scared as
Trevor keeps changing his opinion.
The game genre is a crime simulator action game. This is evident in the title
sequence as they are talking about Michael being kidnapped by an angry Asian gang.
For the setting there is a very urban feel with
traffic being heard in the background
Michael has asked Trevor to meet him at his auntie’s house as Michael has been
kidnapped by an Asian gang in north Yankton. However Trevor doesn’t want
anything to do with him or saving him even though it was Trevor’s fault.
The mood is set through the narrative as there is
no music in this cut sequence.
The game genre is set through the background
noise and narrative, with references to violence
and characters.
The narrative is studio based with a lot of
controlled sound. There was also other sounds
such as the impact of Trevor’s fist and a random
civilian.
