Narrative
Clearly state what production technique(s) you think have
been used to create specific soundtrack elements
In this cut scene it shows Arthas, the main boss of the World of Warcraft (One of the
biggest MMORPG's in the world) expansion pack Wrath of the Lich King, your
character has reached level 80 and is doing one the final raid for the expansion pack
The mood of the cutscene, due to a very hard boss battle just before it, is both
triumphant and slightly sad. As you finally take down the main enemy of the game
(so far…) you watch as the Lich King leaves him and he finds peace as he dies in the
arms of his ghostly father. However, there is also a hint of uncertainty as the father
tells Tirion (and your character) that there must always be a Lich King. Who would
be next? Finally, the mood changes to relief and regret as Bolvar takes the crown,
damning himself to a life frozen on his throne controlling the scourge.
World of Warcraft is a very specific game type: An MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer
Online Role Play Game). It is one of (or even the biggest) of its kind and is now
currently working on its 5th expansion pack, Warlords of Draenor. The expansion
packs are as follows (in released order) The Burning Crusade, Wrath of the Lich King,
Cataclysm, Mists of Pandaria and (soon to be released) Warlords of Draenor. It
contains a hefty amount of lore, as well as numerous amounts of enemies, levels,
story lines, races, wars, quests and abilities to go through.
Lich King is dying , and his father lets him die peacefully, warning your ally (Tirion)
that there must always be a Lich King, and finally watching Tirion place the crown of
the Lich King upon BolvarFordragon, a burning man, not only to soothe his pain but
to regain control of the scourge (the mindless undead).
There is a lot of music to give a sense of setting
and surrounding. Thus music used is orchestra
styled music giving a sense of fantasy and wonder.
The mood is set by music with a range of
orchestra music from sad slow paced music to
dramatic powerful music.
The sound created can be associated with the
game genre due to the fantasy styled music and
the dialog is to do with the game and its fantasy
adventure theme.
the narrative is dialog based mostly which can be
created in a controlled environment such as a
recording studio.
