This document is a call to action for members to contact key legislators about a bill regarding Medicare reimbursement. The bill would require the state to reimburse Medicare Part D members for increases in their premiums and coverage costs. While the governor's attempt to stop these reimbursements was defeated, the bill addressing this issue has yet to pass. Members are urged to make a final coordinated effort to lobby for the legislation's passage before the legislative session ends.

fate now nests with the fiscal committees and leadenship of the Senate and
Assemb1y. It is vitaJ.ly important that all our membens now contact key legislators
by telephone, letter or emaiI, in one final effont, to obtain passage of this
legislation.
We successfully fought the Govennon's attempt in the Budget to stop neimbursing the
Medicane Pant B IRMAA, but the battle is not complete.
Our bil1, S.6664 (Golden) and A.9369 (Abbate), will cLarify that any additional
Medicane charge is subject to reimbunsement. The State has taken the position that
IRMAA fees fon pr escriptlon dnug covenage under Medicare pant D ane not
neimbursable, but we must get the Legislature to pass our bill to reverse the state's position and pnotect against future Medicare charges.
