As the 2014 Legislative Session draws to a c1ose, RPEA's bill to require the State to neimbunse Medicare Pant D IRMAA changes has been moved fnom Committee and its
fate now nests with the fiscal committees and leadenship of the Senate and
Assemb1y. It is vitaJ.ly important that all our membens now contact key legislators
by telephone, letter or emaiI, in one final effont, to obtain passage of this
legislation.
We successfully fought the Govennon's attempt in the Budget to stop neimbursing the
Medicane Pant B IRMAA, but the battle is not complete.
Our bil1, S.6664 (Golden) and A.9369 (Abbate), will cLarify that any additional
Medicane charge is subject to reimbunsement. The State has taken the position that
IRMAA fees fon pr escriptlon dnug covenage under Medicare pant D ane not
neimbursable, but we must get the Legislature to pass our bill to reverse the state's position and pnotect against future Medicare charges.
ane asking a1l of oun CLC and Chapter Chains to mobilize their Chapter membership
make a coondinated lobbying effont on this legislation. Attached is RpEA's
