This document summarizes a study that examined the incidence of Helicobacter pylori in 50 patients with gastritis. Endoscopy and CLO testing found H. pylori present in 21 of 50 patients (42% incidence). A chi-square test showed a significant association between H. pylori and gastritis (p=0.017). The study concludes that H. pylori is significantly associated with gastritis and that anti-H. pylori treatment is more effective than proton pump inhibitors alone.
