This document discusses inclusive education and co-teaching for students with special needs. It notes that presently in Ukraine some children with special needs are served, but asks if we have excluded some of the best minds from our classrooms by not fully including those with disabilities. The document emphasizes that children with special needs make up 15-20% of the population and should be included in the least restrictive environment possible with their peers. It provides examples of famous individuals who contributed greatly to society despite having disabilities. Finally, it discusses key concepts around inclusion such as referrals, assessments, individualized plans and differentiation of instruction.
