5. Textile Industry
The textile industry of Pakistan is the major player in
the development of Pakistans economy, as this is the
largest industry of Pakistan.
It is considered to be one of the worlds leading cotton
producers.
Textile industry has about 50 large and 2500 small
garment manufacturing units.
In Asia, Pakistan is the 8th largest exporter of textile
products.
6. SUGAR INDUSTRY
The sugar industry in Pakistan is the
second largest industry after textiles.
Pakistan is an important cane producing
country and is ranked fifth in the world.
Sugarcane cultivation provides partial and
seasonal employment to 1.99983m people
approximately ,which is about 12.14% of
the total agriculture labor force.
7. Cement industry
Cement industry is one of the few industries that
existed in Pakistan.
The major reason of this industry is the
availability of the new materials.
It currently exports cement to several countries
including Iran, India, and the UAE.
Pakistan is a large supplier of cement to
Afghanistan having exported 2.5 million tons of
cement into the country

In Pakistan, Sialkot is the hub of the sports
industry and manufacturing.
The equipment of sports market is very
strong in Pakistan sport industry as they are
manufacturing producing quality products
even for the world cup matches held in
various countries.
In Pakistan almost all sports related items are
produced such as soccer ball, cricket, tennis
ball etc.,,
9. Negative impacts of industries on
Environment and people
A lot number of forest trees are being cut in northern areas for
timber as well as fuel wood, that cause various effects on people
lives such as biodiverties, climate change and other environmental
issues.
The environment of Pakistan is badly affected by the smoke
produced from the factories that creates poor physical environment
and increases the morbidity rate in Pakistan.
The industrial waste from the factories is not well treated and is
dumped in the nearby rivers which pollutes the water in the rivers
increasing the lack of clean and water sanitation therefore causes
many disease in Pakistan.
10. Conclusion
From the above information it is clear that Pakistan industry playing very
major roles in developed countries , therefore has much importance for
economic development without industrial sector in compare to other
countries.
