 INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT): IT refers to all the computer based information
systems used by organizations and their underlying technology. IT is the use of
computers to store, retrieve, and manipulate data or information.
 Information technology is the study, design, development, implementation, support or
management of computer-based information systems-particularly software applications
and computer hardware.

 INFORMATION SYSTEM: This refers to a set of interrelated components that collect,
manipulate, and disseminate data and information and provide feedback to meet an
objective.
FOR EXAMPLE: ATMs, airline reservation systems etc.
 MIS helps organize complicated information, so decision making becomes easier right
from simple low-level decisions to strategic plans made at the top level of management.
