Increase exposure to authentic language Teach higher order  thinking skills (see  Blooms  taxonomy ) Provide students  with a real audience Allow for self-directed and  independent learning. Share information  with school community  (family, friends,  teacher, heads, etc) Keep a record of  resources and activities.
