(1)Find X
• Pink Kryptonite is a type of Kryptonite that seemingly
turns Kryptonians X. It is unknown what it would do
to an already X Kryptonian. This type of Kryptonite
only made one appearance in comics and was used
as a satire of the plots of Silver Age comic stories
featuring some strange new form of Kryptonite.

• Seen in the still on the next slide from "Harley and
the Davidsons" are Robert Aramayo and Michiel
Huisman, who plays Daario in Game of Thrones.
Interestingly, Aramayo himself made a couple of
"minor" cameo appearances in season 6, playing a
much-loved, much-missed character. So the question
is, who did Aramayo play?

(3)Id X and Explain
• An existing quantity of X can be multiplied or
enlarged.
• X can be transformed into a different form.
• X can be Summoned from elsewhere if the caster of
the spell knows the approximate location of X.
• X, however, cannot be outright conjured from
nothing.
What is X, and what fundamental rule of magic
has been partly explained above?
(4)Id 1 and 2
• In LotR film trilogy, the producers had to make sure
that this scene didn’t resemble ____(1)_____.
• They felt that, “After ___(2)____, LotR lifted the
hearts like no other movie could. Its release was
ironic and necessary in this time in her history. As X’s
war continues, she will no doubt continue to turn to
Jackson’s adaption of Tolkien’s beautiful story of
good vs evil. “
*(5)
• Born in 1965, Shirley Henderson is a singer and
award-winning stage and movie actress. Owing to
her short stature and child-like voice, she was cast as
X in the film adaptations of Chamber of Secrets and
Goblet of Fire, gaining in the process a certain unique
distinction with respect to other actors who've
appeared in the Harry Potter films.
• Identify X, and what distinction does Henderson
hold?

• It was revealed in an interview with concept designer Jake
Lunt Davies that Xs were only present in the film because the
location where they were filming had hundreds of puffins that
they couldn't move during shoots. "From what I gathered,
____ (the director), in a positive spin on this, was looking at
how can he work with this," explains Davies. "You can’t
remove them. You physically can’t get rid of them. And
digitally removing them is an issue and a lot of work, so let’s
just roll with it, play with it. And so I think he thought, 'Well,
that’s great, let’s have our own indigenous species.'"
• ID X and the film.
(8)ID the blank.
(9)ID the blank
"Grey as a mouse,
Big as a house,
Nose like a snake,
I make the earth shake,
As I tramp through the grass;
Trees crack as I pass.
With horns in my mouth
I walk in the South,
Flapping big ears.
Beyond count of years
I stump round and round,
Never lie on the ground,
Not even to die.
_________ am I,
Biggest of all,
Huge, old, and tall.
If ever you'd met me
You wouldn't forget me.
If you never do,
You won't think I'm true;
But old _________ am I,
And I never lie."
FITB in this poem quoted by Samwise
Gamgee in the Two Towers.
*(10)What is X?
• A direct consequence of summers lasting for years at
a time in the GoT universe is the production of
super-storms (like the one Daenerys was born in) in
the warm waters of the Southern Seas. These storms
typically sweep north over the Stepstones, but
instead of sweeping west to make landfall in X, they
proceed further north and slam into the Stormlands
and Shipbreaker's Bay.
(Cont.)
• Septons surmise that an ancient curse received by
Durran Godsgrief, the first of the Storm kings who
had offended the sea god by wooing the latter's
daughter Elenei, is the cause of this odd weather
pattern.
• More importantly, this weather phenomenon is
almost solely responsible for the physical geography
of X. What is X?
(11)
• Gilderoy Lockhart, who never actually did any of the
heroic acts he claimed he had done, but instead used
his considerable talent in Memory charms to force
the actual people who had done them into forgetting
what they did, won the Witch Weekly's accolade 5
times. This is the only award that Lockhart has won
fairly and honestly, as the others he merely stole
credits and forged data to achieve. What award are
we talking about?
(12)ID X and Y
• X was created by its founder when he considered the
nature of a white dwarf star and its intense
molecular density. He then created a technology
that would let him reduce his molecular density
while controlling his weight so that he would have
the ability to deliver a full strength, full mass punch
while being at what would be his nominal size of
about six inches tall.
(Cont.)
• Y involves the principle cross interaction between
Boson and ___ magnetic field gives rise
to subatomic particles of an extra dimensional
nature that are capable of shunting or adding mass
and reducing or increasing scale of any form of
matter, compressing physical forces around such
objects or organisms that they are applied to, as well
as increasing density and strength of the subject.
(13)ID X
• Skroth is the language used by X in GoT. Peter
Brown, the sound designer for the show,
developed the sound of the language, which
resembles the “cracking of ice on a frozen
lake“. Skroth featured briefly in the prologue
of s1e1, but it hasn't been seen since. David
Peterson even created a spoken version of
Skroth (like he did for Dothraki and Valyrian),
but it remains unused as of now, although this
might change soon.
(14)
• Dan Bell is a British artist and cartographer
who is currently working on hand-drawn
charts of various nature reserves in England
and the USA. A few samples of his work can be
seen in the next slide.

• Seeking to clear the air on a long-contested
fan theory, Sam Coleman (who had earlier
played young Hodor in season 6's Hold the
Door) posted this tweet in July 2017, making a
clever comparison to another TV show that
was in the news at the time for a similar
reason.

• Hengist of Woodcroft was a 9th century
wizard who was a well-documented victim of
persecution from Muggles in the Middle Ages.
Driven out of his native Gloucestershire by
angry Muggles who feared his prodigious
magical ability, Hengis fled to Scotland and
subsequently established X, something that
gladdens the heart of all Hogwarts students
(who are old enough) on a periodic basis.
Identify X.

• In the 1940s there was a hugely popular weekly X radio show
in the US. About this same time (just after WWII), the KKK was
seeing a pretty big resurgence across the country. Their
membership was growing, and they were gaining sway with
politicians, as well. A writer/activist named Stetson Kennedy
went undercover within the KKK. He attended meetings
where he got tons of information on them. He learned the
names of key KKK leaders, their secret code words/phrases,
how they operated, etc. When Kennedy took this information
to the police, they were too intimidated by the KKK's political
power to build a case against them. So X saved the day.
(Cont.)
• Kennedy took his information about the KKK to the writers of
the X radio show. During WWII, X's biggest enemy was the
Nazis. The war had just ended, though, so he needed a new
villain. In a series of shows titled "Clan of the Fiery Cross", X
fought and defeated the KKK. Kennedy used this show to
expose many of the KKK's secrets, including secret phrases,
rituals, membership, etc.
• Within 2 weeks of the show airing, the KKK membership was
plummeting. They became a national joke, and never
recovered from the damage. Without X, the KKK would likely
have become a significant (although probably not dominant)
political force the US.
