For your Speaking Test make sure you 
 Feel confident, speak naturally
 Relax and enjoy the
conversation with the examiner
 Listen carefully to the questions
 Use fillers and hesitation devices
if they need thinking time
before answering
 Realize it is your language level
not their opinions which are being
evaluated
 Are aware of the time allowed for
each section and include timed
practice in class
 Are familiar with the assessment
criteria
Follow this handy advice for your
Speaking test:
 Try to speak as much as you are able to.
 Speak as fluently as you can and try to be spontaneous.
 Try to remain confident and enjoy using your English skills.
 Expand upon your answers as much as you can.
 Make sure that you talk more than the examiner does.
 If you need to, you can ask the examiner to clarify a question.
 Dont memorize prepared answers, examiners have the ability to
recognize this and will change your question as a result.
 Remember that you will be marked on your ability to effectively
communicate your opinions.
 The questions that the examiners ask often tend to be quite
predictable, so make sure you practice at home but do not memorise
your answers.

  • 4. Why take IELTS? English is the third most spoken language in the world. IELTS is one of the most popular tests It is globally recognized. To demonstrate a high level of English language ability. You are able to communicate well You are able to integrate into the community.
  • 5. An interview takes place between one examiner and one candidate for between 11 and 14 minutes. Every test is digitally recorded and consists of 3 parts A band mark is awarded between 1 and 9 with 9 being the highest. Productive & Integrated skills will be tested The SpeakingTest Interview format
  • 6. For your Speaking Test make sure you Feel confident, speak naturally Relax and enjoy the conversation with the examiner Listen carefully to the questions Use fillers and hesitation devices if they need thinking time before answering Realize it is your language level not their opinions which are being evaluated Are aware of the time allowed for each section and include timed practice in class Are familiar with the assessment criteria
  • 7. Follow this handy advice for your Speaking test: Try to speak as much as you are able to. Speak as fluently as you can and try to be spontaneous. Try to remain confident and enjoy using your English skills. Expand upon your answers as much as you can. Make sure that you talk more than the examiner does. If you need to, you can ask the examiner to clarify a question. Dont memorize prepared answers, examiners have the ability to recognize this and will change your question as a result. Remember that you will be marked on your ability to effectively communicate your opinions. The questions that the examiners ask often tend to be quite predictable, so make sure you practice at home but do not memorise your answers.

Collocations list. Vocabulary Jotter Don't use a synonym, if you are not 100% sure. Create a book for helpful synonyms. Use advanced and topic- related words.
