Editor's Notes

  • #2: My 10 Weeks with Providence Sports and Entertainment.
  • #3: Providence Sports and Entertainment is a privately held company that was founded in 2011. They are the exclusive marketing and sales agent for the Rhode Island Convention & Entertainment Complex inclusive of the Rhode Island Convention Center, the Dunkin' Donuts Center, The Vets and the Providence Bruins.
  • #4: Although there company is fairly new the organization is still the leader in sales, marketing and hospitality for sports and entertainment in Southern New England. Providence Sports and Entertainment delivers their clients, sponsors and partners with honesty, integrity and the highest level of customer service. They deliver a highly trained group of sports and entertainment professionals. With a staff consisting of over 250 years of sales and marketing experience across a broad spectrum of college and pro sports teams, entertainment and fine arts venues, and media properties.
  • #5: Due to the fact that the company is on the smaller size I was able to have daily interactions with employees of different statures. The employees that I had the more interactions with Kevin Boryczki and Tyler Souza. Kevin Boryczki is the boss to my supervisor Tyler and is the VP of marketing and client relations. My boss Tyler Souza is a client relations Associate. The job of the client relations associate is to communicate with sponsors about signage and what they need for the upcoming season along with potential and past ticket holders about purchasing tickets for the upcoming season.
  • #6: As you can see from the photos, I had a lot of fun while interning. On the right is a picture of the Providence Bruins mascot Samboni and I. On the right is my fellow interns Elizabeth, Amy and JP. Although interning is a lot of hard work we did manage to have some fun.
  • #7: While interning with Providence Sports and Entertainment some professional skills that were usual were Time management, Team Work and Flexibility. Due to the fact that the season is up and coming when completing the projects we had to make sure they were done by the deadline. Another important skill was team work. Due to the fact that there were a lot of interns most project were completed in groups. This meant that we needed to work together to complete the tasks in an effective manor. Finally the tired skill I used often was flexibility. This was important because often projects would show up or my boss would call the night before work and ask up to come in earlier. You had to be flexible in order to get the most out of the internship.
  • #8: One of the many projects I did for my internship was Summer Leads. This is the planning process I am going to explain. Summer leads are when people fill out enter to win forms at mascot appearances throughout the summer. The information was then placed in the spread sheet and handed into the client relations associate. The information was then used to contact these people to ask if they wished to obtain tickets for the upcoming season.
  • #9: My goals for this internship were to impress the company and my supervisors my work ethic and my knowledge about the organization and the sport industry. My accomplishments at this internship was that I was offered to work obtaining a client relations associate during the season. Over all this internship was a great experience and has helped me determine what I would like to do with my future.
