- 1. Intro Evaluation Task 4 How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
- 2. In the planning and research stages my group used Facebook messenger to keep in contact, this enabled us to be able to share ideas and research quickly between all three of us. We also used the website VideoHive.com to look at projections that we could use, because this was copyrighted we had to buy the videos but they were high quality (720p) which meant they were perfect for using as projections. When I filmed my animatic I had quite a lot of experience with using a digital video camera and iPhone from AS and just in general home use. We edited the animatic using Premiere Pro, which was advanced for what we had to do but worked well because I knew how to use it from last year. So I was able to film this quickly and edit it because I had already had parties with these tools.
- 3. On the production day we had to use lots of new technologies that we have never used before, this included a iPad which was a clapper board, lighting desk and a Song FX100 camera. This camera was more advanced then what we used for AS (Sony NX5) as it enabled us the interchange the lenses for different purposes and we were able to get higher quality shots. In the post-production stage I used Adobe Premiere Pro to edit my music video, this enabled me to easily cut, change and order the shots quickly since I had used this application in AS when editing my thriller. I also had to colour grade my video so I upped the contrast on all the shots and then made sure they all looked the same and were consistent across the video.
- 4. For the Digi-pak I used the Adobe application Photoshop, this enabled me to edit and place the images and text in a template of a digipak. I am very familiar with Photoshop so was able to edit the photos quickly however, inserting into the digipak template was a challenge because I had to revise the images and insert them correctly. I also had to add the typical conventions of a digipak this included a bar code, copy right text, name of album, artist name and the logo of the record company. For the website I had to use the online software called Wix, this enabled us to use a template and just insert text and image where we wanted, we were also able to rearrange the template to how we wanted so we could make it relevant to our star.
